Public Service Superannuation Plan
The Public Service Superannuation Plan (PSSP) is one of the largest public-sector pension plans in Nova Scotia. The Plan is a registered defined benefit pension plan that offers PSSP members a lifetime pension benefit when they retire.
The PSSP provides retirement benefits to many Nova Scotians who work in a government department, with a university that participates in the PSSP, with a municipality that participates in the PSSP, or with an agency, board or commission that participates in the PSSP.
The Plan is governed by its own pension legislation, the Public Service Superannuation Act. The trustee of the PSSP is Public Service Superannuation Plan Trustee Inc. (PSSPTI). At the direction of, and under the oversight of PSSPTI, Nova Scotia Pension Services Corporation administers the PSSP.
