Rob was appointed Controller of the Department of Finance and Treasury Board in December 2024. Prior to this role, he was the Executive Director, Government Accounting within the Department of Finance and Treasury Board. Rob oversees the Province’s compliance with public sector accounting standards and is involved with all aspects of the Province’s financial reporting and preparation of the Province’s consolidated financial statements.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Mary’s University, is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia, and worked with KPMG LLP for over seven years before entering the public sector. Rob has held various other director and officer positions with provincially controlled entities, including as a trustee and audit committee chair of the Nova Scotia Public Service Long-Term Disability Plan Trust Fund, and currently serves on the Public Sector Accounting Board’s Technical Advisory Group.
